Hollerhead is an up and coming band based in the Marshall County of Western Kentucky. They are folk/indie rock at its best; however, describing their sound is sincerely an exercise in futility. According to the bands myspace page “[Hollerhead] sounds like Pantera got hit upside the head by Merle Haggard,” a testimony that rings true, also demonstrating the bands incredibly eclectic range of musical influences.

“I saw a Pantera show that changed my life, as did a Willie Nelson performance…I’m truly inspired by nearly all music, “says front man Jeremy Marshall. He continues, “Hollerhead is inspired by nature, by our friends, by everything we encounter day by day.”

Originally formed as a trio in late 2007 with Marshall, bassist Josh Darnall and drummer Kent Wilcox, Hollerhead has since found completeness with the addition of lead guitarist Mike West.

Although a recent addition to the local scene, Hollerhead enjoys a notable following of fans, those of whom the band is quick to credit with their success thus far, as confirmed in the bands song “Oklahoma and the Crazy Kids.”

“I thank god for Kentucky and all the crazy kids, and when the world stops its spinning, I’ll still have all my friends.”
